VehID Overview

Our Objective

We intend to utilize machine learning and computer vision to create a model that can accurately identify a vehicle based on a variety of characteristics. The key components of this model would be it's ability to identify color, make/model, and/or license plates of vehicles. This technology will be used to aid in public safety situations such as AMBER alerts, stolen vehicles, and criminal offenses. However, these are not the only scenarios where a model like this would be beneficial. This model would be an improvement upon the current systems used in these situations which often rely on pure human interaction to spot and report the specified vehicles.
